August 3rd, 2010, more than two years since D’espairsRay last toured North America with the Rockstar Taste of Chaos tour, the band had finally returned and successfully delivered an amazing show to a full house at the Roxy Theater.
Hours before the live, eager fans sporting their loud and proud jrock fashions decorated the entire block, being viewed curiously by passersby while waiting to get in. As they all eventually made their ways into the venue, they were greeted by the opening act, a lively American band called Opus Dai. After a very positive introduction from them, the audience finally comes face to face with their main goal of the night – a night of rocking excitement with D’espairsRay.
The moment the four members of D’espairsRay stepped onto the stage, they were greeted by excited cheers and screams from the crowd, and without missing a beat the band started to play with full energy. Despite the fact they had only landed in America the previous day, the four members, HIZUMI, Karyu, ZERO, and TSUKASA, seemed more than ready to show off to the audiences of Los Angeles their musical creations in the past two years.
Dressed in all black – black shirts, black vests, black sleeveless tops – the four members, more experienced with this foreign land and more ready than ever to satisfy its fans, showed impressive and amazing energy through their facial expressions of satisfaction (ZERO’s contented smile was most memorable), moving around the stage and getting as close to the audience as they could and, most of all, giving everything they have got with every rhythmic and powerful beat of their music.
As the band rocked the venue in full volume with songs from their newest album “MONSTERS” (released July 28th, 2010), they also serviced fans with songs from older albums and singles such as “REDEEMER,” “MIRROR,” “Coll:set,” “FINAL CALL” and “Garnet.” From beginning to end, the band only stopped a couple of times for HIZUMI to say greetings to the audience and continuously showed a tremendous amount of energy and spirit, running on full throttle the entire show. The loyal fans of D’espairsRay enjoyed the show fully in awe while savoring and devouring this full course meal of rock and roll that is the world of D’espairsRay.
