It has been almost a year since Dir en grey’s last performance at Denver. On Saturday, September 4th, Dir en grey made their return during the UNWAVERING FACT OF TOMORROW tour to deliver an exceptional performance to hundreds of fans.

Only minutes before the event, fans quickly filled the venue and lined up close to the stage for their chance to see Dir en grey. Voices filled the air that marked the crowd’s excitement and anticipation for the forthcoming show.

The venue suddenly became pitch black. The room filled with booming reverberations that mirrored the sounds of “Sa Bir.” Fans screamed in exhilaration as the five members walked on stage to greet the crowd. The concert was underway with the sounds of “Hageshisa to, Kono Mune no Naka de Karamitsuita Shakunetsu no Yami.”

A memorable song from the evening’s performance was “Vinushka.” Kaoru began the song with light and delicate riffs that set the initial mood of the song.

As the song transitioned into a faster tempo, Die, with windswept and breezy hair, accompanied Kaoru, and together the pair played their instrument in unison, creating the dramatic and heavy sounds of “Vinushka.”

Shinya’s drum skills were truly exceptional as he played the various syncopated rhythms that contributed to the overall variety of the song. As the number continued to build up to its climax, Toshiya played his riffs with precision, and his enthusiasm shined through to the crowd as he moved energetically around stage.

Kyo demonstrated his innate ability to flawlessly transition from harmonious and melodious rhythms to the more intense screams and howls that are featured in “Vinushka.” Nearing the end of the song, the band transitioned into a slow and dramatic version of the chorus, which showcased Kyo’s compassionate vocals. The song had reached its climax – each member played each note with a dedication and energy that left the audience in awe.

The band played several favorites including “Obscure,” “Dozing Green” and “The Final.” The concert drew to a close when Kyo shouted, “Last song!” to the crowd. Following “Rasetsukoku,” the band waved to their fans and walked off stage.

After the phenomenal performance, Denver wasn’t ready to call it a night. The audience immediately began chanting “Dir en grey!” In a matter of minutes, the band stepped out onto the stage to play “Saku” as an encore.

Fans’ screams filled the room as the band held up their hands and bowed. The show had been energetic and exuberant, even passionate and moving at times. This performance by Dir en grey was one that everyone would remember.
