Japanese instrumental metal band ASTERISM will release their new live album THE DECISION (Live in Tokyo 23.11.2023) on streaming platforms worldwide on March 8.
To celebrate the support of their international fans, the band will post the full-length live video recording of the concert on their YouTube channel for 24 hours only, beginning March 9 at 3:00pm Japan time.

ASTERISM’s electrifying live performance in THE DECISION was recorded at Shibuya CYCLONE in Tokyo at the sold-out final show of the band’s one-man tour which began in Nagoya on November 4 with the release of their third full-length album DECIDE.
The 90-minute set was performed by HAL-CA (guitar, vocals), MIYU (bass, chorus), and MIO (drums, chorus) in front of their diehard fans.

The title of the new album represents the band’s “determination” to step into a new territory. Since their formation in 2014, the group has built their identity around their technical performance skills and their unique “mass metal” style that resonates with the masses. By incorporating vocals, the band seeks to expand its horizons. The concert’s first half featured seven songs, leaning into their new style. The second half of the show featured the band’s popular instrumental tracks, “BLAZE,” “Gunfire,” and “Light in the Darkness,” which added fuel to the already amped-up crowd.

It was the first time that more than half of the set was vocal songs, and we were both excited and nervous about performing the shows. However, I felt that the atmosphere of the venue and the reaction of the crowd were more united than ever. I felt certain that the music we created in DECIDE is the right direction for us. At the same time, we realized there is much more we can do as an instrumental band that uses vocals as a weapon, and we’re going to further develop our ASTERISM style on stage in the future. Please look forward to seeing ASTERISM as it continues to power up!

As I witnessed the mastering process of this live recording of songs from our album DECIDE, I thought that it was a night filled with once-in-a-lifetime sounds. The energy, the spontaneity, and even our determination to make sure that our decision was the right one is all in this performance. ASTERISM
ASTERISM is a three-piece instrumental heavy metal band consisting of HAL-CA (Gt.), MIYU (Ba.), and MIO (Dr.), who have all performed music since childhood. The three met at a musical competition in 2014 and formed the band as teenagers, receiving praise for their advanced technical skill and passionate onstage performance.
ASTERISM has completed multiple tours of Japan, Asia, and the U.S., including performances at SXSW Music Festival, Taihu Midi Festival, and Knotfest Japan.
In March 2023, they made their major debut with SME Records.
ASTERISM aims for further global expansion with a new genre “MASS METAL” which means “a metal that reaches, resonates, and is loved by the masses”, based on their meticulously composed music and their unique pop sensibilities.
