Nosaka Laboratories has announced the global streaming of their Reading Theater performance Arsène Lupin #3: The Damsel with Green Eyes which is scheduled to take place at Nikkei Hall in Japan on September 30 (Saturday) and October 1 (Sunday), 2023.

 

Established in 2021 by Japanese playwright Minoru Nosaka, Nosaka Laboratories specializes in bringing masterpiece mysteries to the stage. The “Arsène Lupin” series, written by the French author Maurice Leblanc for more than 25 years starting from 1905, stands out as a beloved collection of mystery adventure novels.

 

The current presentation, The Damsel with Green Eyes, serves as the inspiration behind the internationally acclaimed anime film Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro. Revolving around the enigmatic figure of Aurélie, renowned for her distinctive emerald eyes and serving as the model for Clarisse, the film’s heroine, this presentation weaves an alluring mystery.

 

In this production, the iconic role of Arsène Lupin is played by Tomokazu Seki, a distinguished Japanese voice actor celebrated for his diverse filmography, including Suneo in Doraemon, Domon Kash in Mobile Fighter G Gundam, and Shinya Kogami in PSYCHO-PASS. The character of Leblanc, the author and Lupin’s closest companion, will be played by Ryohei Kimura, known for his prominent voice roles in popular anime like Ryota Kise in Kuroko’s Basketball and Kotaro Bokuto in Haikyu!!

 

A notable ensemble, including Rie Takahashi, Miki Ito, Eiji Takeuchi, Nobuaki Kanemitsu, Junichi Suwabe, and Kazuhiko Inoue, rounds out the cast.

[Synopsis]

April 1909 – Before World War I, France enjoyed its most peaceful era, known as the “Belle Époque.”

Disguised as Raoul de Limezy, a nobleman, Lupin observes an English woman being trailed by a suspicious man in Paris. Simultaneously, he spots another beautiful woman with striking green eyes engaging with the same man.

Lupin follows the English woman onto a train but a sudden attack by unknown men leads to the death of the English woman. Among the men apprehended near the scene is the woman with green eyes.

Though initially letting her slip away, Lupin encounters the green-eyed woman again during a villa robbery. A struggle unfolds among the men for Aurélie, the heiress with captivating green eyes, who holds a concealed memory.

Lupin embarks on a mission to rescue Aurélie and unveil the mystery.
