Once upon a time, a vocalist and guitarist teamed up to form a duo that would become, arguably, Japan’s most successful artists. This is but one chapter of their global tale.

Rock icons B’z are performing a North American tour, their first in eight years with stops in Vancouver, Canada, San Francisco, California, and Los Angeles, California.

B’z consists of guitarist Takahiro “Tak” Matsumoto and vocalist Inaba Koshi. In 2008, the duo was inducted to Hollywood’s RockWalk, becoming the first Asian artists – and only ones since – to have their handprints among other famed artists. They’re also noted in the Guinness Book of World Records as the “Best Selling Album Act in Japan”. Guitarist Tak Matsumoto has a signature line of Gibson guitars with the likes of B.B. King and Ace Frehley. In their native Japan, B’z has topped charts surpassing any other artist including the hottest acts out today – this spanning over the twenty plus years of their ongoing careers.

Since their inception in the late 80’s, the duo has continually released music that has proved experimental and innovative, including genres of rock, pop and blues. They have released over 40 chart topping singles and over 20 albums, all with excellent popularity. Live shows have sold out in Japan on a constant basis.

B’z has released their 48th single, “Sayonara kizu darake no hibiyo” in April of this year with a new single release, “Don’t Wanna Lie”, their 49th to date, released on June 1st, 2011. The hard rocking duo has showed no sign of slowing down, yet with the rarity in which they perform in the U.S., this tour is definitely not one to miss.
